Waltonen CNC Programmer/Machinist in Troy, Michigan
Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team!
Responsibilities
Report to Independence Tooling Operations Manager & work under guidance from CNC Leader
Set up and operate mills and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts
Plan machining processes based on work orders and blueprints
Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and work material
Ensure accurate alignment for efficient machining
Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations
Complete preventive maintenance requirements for equipment
Document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity across work shifts
Review 3D CAD designs and determine programming steps, including material cutting locations
Convert instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
Determine job order and perform associated calculations
Compose and revise programs for increased efficiency
Qualifications
Experience with CNC machining and programming
Experience running Tarus 3+2 machines preferred
Programming experience, preferably in WorkNC.
Familiarity with Fanuc controllers
Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, automotive or defense industry is a plus
Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs
