Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr Finance Manager - Corporate FP&A - Join a $35B Industry Leader! in Waltham, Massachusetts
The Corporate Senior FP&A Manager will have direct responsibility for supporting growth, financial reporting and transformation in partnership with the Financial systems, Group or Division FP&A leaders at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role will be actively involved in financial analysis, reporting and consolidation processes, and will be responsible for key deliverables for senior leadership. This position will also be in charge for developing solid cross-functional business partnerships, leading special projects, improving processes, financial modelling and implementing business intelligence tools.
Support VP/Sr. Director Corporate FP&A in strategic projects and transformation initiatives:
Partner with the Sr. Director and other corporate finance team members to develop the future vision for Corporate FP&A, project identification, scoping and resource needs
Drive process improvement opportunities within many global process areas starting with various aspects of financial reporting. Identify and execute on opportunities to expand scope and breadth for financial reporting by leveraging data and analytics through a variety of financial system tools, whether already within the Thermo Fisher usage or to new tools to be acquired/developed
Increase efficiencies and eliminate redundancies by adoption of new technologies for FP&A reporting and forecasting
Redefine our finance processes, engage with Group/Divisions for successful implementation of redesigned processes. Support automation of key reporting metrics and tools (e.g. Weekly Orders and Sales, Revenue by Industry, Product Vitality, Productivity schedule, YoY EBITA bridges, etc.)
Partner with the Sr. Director to develop future strategy, vision for project identification, scoping and resource needs.
Build strong partnerships with Finance (Financial Systems, Corporate, Group and Divisional) and key individuals to develop and maintain meaningful reporting tools and continually enhance business systems, including reporting and analysis capabilities, to meet ever-changing business requirements
Effectively lead, navigate and implement change management and new processes
Assume a leadership/ownership role in the presentation of various business cases, gaining buy-in and influencing change
Understands and deploys the best tools / methods to effectively communicate complex data and topics
Coach and mentor Finance Leadership Development Program analyst
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required; CPA, CMA, MBA desired
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience in a finance role within an operating business
Prior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organization
Proven understanding of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis) and Hyperion Tools
Organized, detail-oriented, with ability to maintain accuracy of information and meet deadline with little supervision
Excellent organizational skills; effective verbal & written communication abilities
Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and understand that there may be extra hours during the financial calendar.
Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. DAX, Python, MDX, VBA) and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) to transform financial data and analysis is preferred
