Thermo Fisher Scientific Financial Analyst III, Global Business Services in Waltham, Massachusetts
An exciting opportunity exists within a growth industry! Our team is looking for a results-oriented finance professional seeking to play a key role in driving the financial execution of strategic change programs within Thermo Fisher's Global Business Services (GBS) unit. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Finance Manager for GBS and will work closely with operations and finance leadership to execute the financial planning and analysis processes surrounding GBS' change programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Partner with the GBS Functions leadership team and bring strong capabilities in financial planning, trend identification, and insight generation to support impactful reporting, and process management
Work with operations leads across geographies and divisions to manage functional spend reviews and to provide strategic analysis on spend drivers
Project manage the build out of financial processes to support the vision of our change programs and work across Thermo Fisher finance teams to understand and drive standards in our processes
Develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and monthly forecasts; conduct variance analysis; prepare financial request cases and other ad hoc analyses
Complete key close processes and reporting for operating expenses and capital spending
Develop well-organized, informative data points, reports, dashboard and other forms of data visualizations to support strategic business decisions
Support company-wide finance initiatives such as PLN 2.0. Consolidate and follow-up on Workday Audit and Cost Center Hierarchy reviews
How will you get here:
The ideal candidate has 2-4 years or more of finance experience and is seeking the next step of their career with a fast paced team oriented environment in an exciting growth industry. Successful candidates will have strong skills in the following areas: Written and verbal communications, interpersonal cross functional team based interaction, organizational and detail orientation, analytical, planning, and problem solving. Should also be intellectually curious and results oriented.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience in analysis, reporting, and accounting
Ability to work effectively with global and remote teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize financial analysis results in a clear and accurate manner
Detail oriented, organized and analytical. Can handle several projects at the same time.
Preferred systems experience includes: SAP, Hyperion Planning, CMR, MS Excel, and PowerBI
Ability to drive projects and activities to successful conclusion.
Proven ability to operate independently with general guidance against a framework of defined business objectives
