About being our Office / Field Engineer

As anOffice / Field Engineeryou will utilize your expertise to help develop and maintain the project administration records while understanding client goals, establishing effective client relationships, and supporting the team to achieve set goals. You'll be working on water/wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and/or public works projects in Alameda County.

Responsibility Highlights for our Office / Field Engineer

  • Providing technical support of field construction matters
  • Observing construction activities on an active construction site
  • Processing project communications between client, design engineer and contractor
  • Maintaining project files, documents, and as-built schedules
  • Assisting with document interpretation of project plans and specifications

Minimum Qualifications to be our Office / Field Engineer

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with public works and/or heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work on-site in a construction trailer or building; ability to walk on uneven surfaces, stand, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, and enter confined spaces; tolerate heat, cold, dirt, odors, and other construction hazards may exist

Preferred Qualifications for our Office / Field Engineer

  • Prior experience with local agencies municipalities, and utilities and/or experience with water and wastewater construction projects
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) or other related certification
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Construction Management software
