What you'll do

SAP HANA is a large enterprise database management system, based on roughly 40 million lines of code tested by over 900 000 tests. See here (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13222-022-00426-x) .

Testing of SAP HANA is severely impacted by test flakiness. Test flakiness describes the situation that a test execution may pass and fail for the same code. Such test results are not reliable. Developers lose trust in flaky tests and the overall quality signal provided by tests is weakened.

In the context of flakiness analysis for SAP HANA, you will analyze data and contribute to changes that improve test flakiness with the goal to understand test flakiness, reduce flakiness and increase resilience against current and future flakiness sources.

What you bring

Expected qualifications:

• Student of computer science or related fields at a higher education institution

• Experience with programming demonstrated by existing projects. Knowledge in Python programming and SQL. Knowledge in C is beneficial for studying HANA source code. Experience with typical tools in data science is a plus.

• Basic knowledge in applied statistics

• Comfortable with English for daily communication (B level). German (B level) is a plus.

• Good grades shown by a Transcript of Records (ToR) / Grades

Meet your team

The SAP HANA Delivery team is responsible to deliver HANA onprem and HANA Cloud to customers in quality and time.

We plan releases, align quality, and transform the content of the SAP HANA source code repository into a release. After delivery, we manage the released versions which includes many active tasks in HANA Cloud version management.

Delivery collaborates with a wide range of teams such as SAP HANA program- and product management, development, technical support as well as a vast number of internal stakeholders that build their applications on top of the SAP HANA Platform.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
