Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is seeking applicants for a full-time HVAC Technician at the Walla Walla campus.

General Responsibilities:

Under general direction this position performs skilled work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment (HVAC) systems, and related equipment at WWCC facilities. This position makes repairs to HVAC system components including chillers, boilers, valves, and other items and responds to calls on heating and cooling problems to evaluate problem and make appropriate repairs.

Essential Functions:

HVAC Equipment Operations

Tasks include:

• Installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of air handlers, air flow dampers, V belts, sheaves, pulleys, and bearings; maintains and repairs commercial refrigeration equipment used in air conditioning, ventilation, and chilled water systems;
• Make rounds of all equipment rooms and identify and repairing any potential problems and keep the systems and rooms clean. Set equipment trends to monitor energy consumption in Johnson Controls Metasys program.
• Manage boilers and chiller to maintain system temperatures and equipment runtimes through the Metasys system;
• Manage annual boiler inspections with WA Labor and Industries;
• Inspects, maintains and repairs plumbing, heating, water, cooling, refrigeration, sewer and fire suppression systems; 
• Analyzes and maintains control systems that include electrical, electronic, and pneumatic sensors and actuators; lay out, fabricate, and install mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic temperature and humidity controls for heating and ventilation systems; repair relays, timers, meters, and switches with local or remote computer control; reads and interprets blueprints;
• Monitors and adjusts heat and air conditioning in buildings using automated building monitoring and control systems; 

• Operates and maintains fluid and electronic testing and measuring instruments, such as manometers, air flow and liquid flow meters, volt meters, ammeters and potentiometers; keeps records of work performed and supplies used; use such tools as drill presses, grinders, bandsaws, hand drills, testers, welding equipment, soldering guns, small hand tools and specialized apparatus; estimates and orders materials and supplies needed to maintain equipment in good working condition

   

Administrative Responsibilities

Tasks include:

• Email management, parts research, computer-based troubleshooting, document retention.
• Assist with construction/remodel plan review of upcoming projects of the HVAC systems.

• Complete and close out Work Orders in the CMMS and enter time worked and materials used.

Tasks include:

Contribute to a safe working environment for self, co-workers and the public. Adheres to all Federal, State, Local, and Department safety guidelines, including any concerning chemical applications and disposal.  Reports unsafe conditions or
