Internal Job Title: Assembly I - Door Packout External Job Title: Door Packer Grade: Level 1 Reports To:  Production Supervisor FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Location: Walker, Michigan General Description: The Assembly I - Door Packout position is part of the production crew that assembles interior and exterior doors for commercial use. Individuals in this assembly position work as part of a team to ensure all sales orders are assembled and packed per schedule.Essential Duties: Reads and verifies paperwork, work orders, or work instructions for product accuracy Verifies quality of material and finished product Enters production data into computer to update status of work order Ensures hardware is complete and functional before packaging is complete Follows documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications. Interacts with fellow assembly members to ensure quantity requirements are met Performs housekeeping and preventative maintenance responsibilities as needed. Uses care and respect to ensure equipment and/or property is not damaged Individuals in this position are cross-trained and expected to perform in a variety of Assembly I roles.Position Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, required Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, required Previous assembly experience, preferred Familiarity with custom parts/hardware ("CP") and its typical applications, preferred Ability to read and interpret work instructions and work orders in English, required Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and templates, required Able to make perform basic math computations, required Able to read a tape measure and measure product to 1/32 Able to perform basic computer functions related to data entry, output and storage, requiredCompetencies: Attendance & Dependability - Individual can be depended on to report to work on time and as scheduled, work overtime as necessary and be seldom absent from work.
