Description

Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The challenging, fast-paced work environment requires top-notch analytical skills. Located in Waite Park, Minnesota, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Hotels field. Your responsibilities
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
Requirements - Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Experience with ERP systems
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Command of Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Proven knowledge of Financial Statement
Experience with month end closings
Account reconciliation experience
General ledger experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Strong time management skills preferred
