Job Description:
Provides therapeutic services and diagnostic services to patients and families. This is to include but is not limited to individual, group, and family therapy, mental health intakes and assessments, diagnostics, and coordination of treatment services for the patient. May be required to provide Minnesota DHS Clinical Supervision requirements as required for Partial Hospitalization Programs.
Education Qualifications:
- Master degree in social work or PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology (APA approved program).

Essentia Health Wahpeton Clinic is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health provider and will consider either a Psychotherapist o r a Doctoral level Psychologist to become an integrated component of our primary care team by increasing access for mental health and its support services. 1.0 FTE, full-time position with FT benefits (will consider part-time interest also)
Monday-Friday from 8a-5p
Based in Wahpeton, ND, with outreach to Graceville, MN clinic.
6-8 outpatients, preferably able to serve all ages (no inpatient responsibilities
Management of psychosocial aspects of chronic and acute diseases.
Application of behavioral principles to address lifestyle and health risk issues.
Consultation and co-management in the treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial issues
Team based approach with on-site primary care services and consultation specialists at Essentia Health Fargo.
FUNCTIONS:
Assists the primary care provider in recognizing, treating and managing mental health and psychosocial issues and acts as a contributing member to the primary care team;
Conducts client intakes, focusing on diagnostic and functional evaluations, then makes recommendations to the primary care provider concerning the clients’ treatment goals and plan;
Provides consultation and training to the primary care providers to enhance their skill and effectiveness in treating mental health problems;
Gives primary care providers timely feedback about the client’s care, treatment recommendations and progress via documentation in the client’s record and verbal feedback;
Assists, to the extent feasible, in the clients’ community functioning by helping with public benefits, vocational rehabilitation, social support, housing, etc.
Appropriately documents the clients’ progress and diagnostic information in the treatment chart to sync with EMR interface and billing
QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
Ability to work through brief client contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
Comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team, and has strong communication skills.
Ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of selected chronic conditions.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED for a Psychologist:
A doctoral degree in Psychology and licensed/ability to obtain license in state of ND & MN
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
Certification/Licensure Requirements for a Psychotherapist:
Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical counseling, psychology, or other discipline that meets eligibility requirements for licensure in the primary state of practice
Licensed to practice psychotherapy in the state in which the position is based.
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSW) or
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or
Licensed Professional Counselor or (LPC) or
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

Doctoral Psychologist - $132,000
LGSW, MFT, LPC, CSW, LAMFT – Non – Credentialed Therapist - $30.28-$45.42
LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW – Credentialed Therapist - $33.31-$49.82
Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation
