SUMMARY

Responsible for activities related to assigned projects; ensures they are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, specifications, and regulatory requirements and within specific established budgetary and schedule goals and commitments. Prepares scope of work documents and contractor monitoring plans. Monitors department and contractor activities for compliance with schedules, budgets, and other requirements.

Sr. level:

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, Engineering or Project Management (Preferred)

• Other: Without degree, 2 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, or industrial construction/engineering, operation or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling, and cost control. (Required)

EXPERIENCE

• 5 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, or industrial construction/engineering, operations or maintenance which focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling, and cost control. (Required)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or 40 hours documented PMI training or equivalent training. (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT COORD SENIOR:

Provides leadership for business-critical projects.

• Business critical projects. Scope typically >$1M and <$2M, team size >50, project has direct impact on Station Business plan goals.

• Plan, organize, and implement project's scope to ensure on time and on budget completion with safe and error free performance. Develop project plans, goals and budgets including identifying resource needs.

• Assign individual responsibilities and ensure actions are completed as assigned. Facilitates dev and implementation of a project team. Interfaces with dept and contractors, providing info to assist achieving project budgets, schedules and other requirements.

• Dev schedules and methods for measuring results. Monitor budget and schedule activities. Identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact from these changes.

• Serves as CTC ensuring contractual compliance and all procedural requirements are performed. Develop contractor monitoring plans. Doc and communicates deviations from contract.

• Reviews and gains Supervisor approval for vendor payments based on meeting contractual requirements/milestones. Monitor dept and contractor activities for compliance with applicable codes and standards, qual expectations and other requirements.

• Investigates and analyzes reported problems to determine causes and remedial/corrective actions to prevent recurrence; evaluates corrective actions prop by others for appropriateness, applicability and tech adequacy.

Staff level:

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Project Management, Business, Engineering, or another relevant technical field. (Preferred)

• Other: Without degree, 3 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, or industrial construction/engineering, operation or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling, and cost control. (Required)

EXPERIENCE

• 8 years’ experience in nuclear, commercial, or industrial construction/engineering, ops or maintenance which focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling, and cost control. (Required)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Certification (PMP) (Preferred)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, organize, and implement project's scope to ensure on time and on budget completion with safe and error free performance. Develop project plans, goals and budgets including identifying resource needs.

• Assign individual responsibilities and ensure actions are completed as assigned. Facilitates development and implementation of a project team. Interfaces with department and contractors, providing information to assist achieving project budgets, schedules and other requirements.

• Develops schedules and methods for measuring results. Monitor budget and schedule activities. Identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact from these changes.

• Serves as CTC ensuring contractual compliance and all procedural requirements are performed. Develop contractor monitoring plans. Documents and communicates deviations from contract.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accept ERO position as needed.

• Accept outage position as needed.

• Perform special projects, inspections, and audits as assigned.

• Temporary assignment to Projects Department Supervisor as needed.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.

• Ability to perform field walkdowns of work activities in the plant.

• Ability to identify direct and support tasks necessary to successfully complete assigned project. Ability to manage contractor work activities. Thorough knowledge of performance measurement techniques.

• Ability to monitor budget and schedule activities, as well as to identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact of these changes.

• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Ability to write clear, concise, and complete reports. Strong computer skills - ability to use spreadsheet, database and scheduling software.

• Ability to coordinate several concurrent project activities. Ability to organize and conduct effective meetings regarding specific projects. Ability to develop milestone and integrated activity schedules.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

• Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

• Inspection of work activities in all areas of the plant and power block, including ability to don normal industrial safety protective equipment and radiological protective clothing.

• Traversing obstructed areas and climbing stairs and ladders is required occasionally.
