Join Our Team as an Engineering Assistant at Brazos Electric Power Cooperative! Are you passionate about engineering and eager to contribute to the power industry? Look no further! Brazos Electric Power Cooperative is searching for a dynamic Engineering Assistant to join our Transmission Division.
What Youll Do: As an Engineering Assistant, you'll be at the heart of our Engineering department, working closely with our talented engineers to develop CADD drawings and essential documentation for upcoming projects. Your role will be vital in ensuring the smooth execution of these projects, and you'll be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities to keep you engaged and growing in your career. The position will also be responsible for: Design Excellence:
- Craft detailed construction drawings for new projects and modifications to existing facilities using Microstation or similar software.
- Collaborate with engineers on conceptual designs and layouts for electrical substations and switching stations.
- Create detailed fabrication drawings for structural steel items used in substation construction.
- Maintain both paper and electronic files of drawings.
- Assist in preparing RUS Construction contracts and requisitions for substation projects.
- Monitor requisitions and process work orders for project-specific materials.
Support and Collaboration:
- Provide technical support within and outside the Engineering Department.
- Offer work direction to drafters and engineering technicians.
- Engage with vendors to order stock inventory as needed.
- Conduct field investigations, inspections, or monitoring.
- Undertake special substation-related assignments.
