Job Description

Purpose

Responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operations of environmental, occupational health and safety services in accordance with company policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for the EHS performance and compliance through active participation and support of Site goals;

  • Review environmental, occupational health and safety incident investigations and assure corrective actions are taken by management which minimize or prevent similar future incidents;

  • Conduct training for management, employees, new hires, and/or contractors regarding applicable Environmental, Health and Safety programs and procedures as directed;

  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance;

  • Develop and/or maintain occupational hygiene programs, such as noise surveys, industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomic evaluations, and personal protective equipment assessment;

  • Facilitate investigation and documentation of occupational incidents to determine causes and preventive measures;

  • Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, and response teams, so that emergency responses can be facilitated. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and emergency equipment. Maintain Site emergency response program.

  • Develop, maintain and conduct medical monitoring programs for employees;

  • Address environmental and safety concerns that could potentially affect employees, contractors, and the general public during normal operations and/or project implementation. Pinpoints safety hazards to the Site Staff for correction;

  • Provide assistance to the Site in the control, management and disposal of domestic, biomedical, hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. Facilitate environmental permits renewal process and complete environmental reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience in environmental and safety administration or occupational health and safety.

  • From 0 to 1 year of experience in an Environmental, Occupational Health and/or Safety capacity.

  • Experience handling hazardous waste preferred.

  • Ability to work with computers, database, and integration of information tracking systems.

  • Excellent problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills.

  • General knowledge of Quality, OSHA and Environmental regulations.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including experience with Excel.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

Salary: $58,656 - $98,000
