Responsibilities

Function as a liaison between internal/external referral sources and inpatient rehabilitation

operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish relationships and aid with communication to case managers, physicians, payors, patients, families and referral sources in order to generate referrals and drive patient admission volume in the inpatient rehab.

  • Ensure appropriate patient selection through clinical chart assessments during on/off-site clinicalevaluation of patients in collaboration with the physician.

  • Complete in-service and educational opportunities for physicians, case managers, interdisciplinary members and other professionals. Serve as an educational resource to patients, family members and caregivers.

  • Participates in the development and implementation of business plans for the rehab unit and contribute to the development and maintenance of referral source promotional information.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date.

  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy credentialed from the Texas Board ofOccupational Therapy Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy Asst credentialed from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Speech-Language Pathologist credentialed from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

  • Drivers License preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
