C.H. Robinson Category Specialist in Voorhees, New Jersey

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Category Specialist to join the Robinson Fresh team. In this pivotal role, you’ll build relationships to improve the supply chain as you execute the daily operations of a deciduous fruit category. You will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, interacting daily with grower/shippers and internal sales teams to communicate critical market intelligence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Communicates with suppliers daily to understand quality, yields, pricing, and production

  • Proactively share commodity and market information to commercial team, enabling confident sales and growth

  • Support transactional, promotional, and contract pricing recommendations

  • Maintain grower/supplier relationships and continually assist in ways to improve their performance using data

  • Utilize knowledge of the customer base, such as product specifications and ordering patterns to better meet their needs

  • Align the right supply to the right customers, and communicate packing instructions to suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 2 years of supply chain experience

  • Ability to travel up to 5% (domestically and internationally)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, growers, and internal teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to negotiate effectively with suppliers

  • Great attitude, with a desire to contribute, learn, and grow professionally

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment, sometimes out of normal business hours

  • Attention to detail with high standards for work; a customer service mindset
