Description

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the manufacturing industry, based in Visalia, California. This role will focus primarily on maintaining internal control over financial processes and reporting, assisting in various aspects of inventory management, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reports.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and internal & external financial reporting.

• Perform regular risk assessments of controls to maintain internal control over financial processes and reporting.

• Review and analyze purchase price variances between standard costs and actual, report findings.

• Assist with inventory management tasks including physical inventories, inventory pricing reviews, and cycle count report creation.

• Participate in budget, forecast, estimate, and projection processes, providing insight into revenue and cost drivers.

• Pull and review customer credit reports, provide recommendations for terms to the Controller.

• Manage receivables and collections to ensure adequate control.

• Review and work to improve the accuracy of standard costs, routings, and bill of materials.

• Maintain fixed asset database, track construction in process, and conduct periodic fixed assets inventories.

• Prepare external, internal, and corporate financial reporting, ensuring all deadlines are met monthly, quarterly, and annually.

• Create purchase orders for inventory and supplies based on safety stock, current, and forecasted demands.

Requirements • Holds a minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar capacity within the manufacturing industry

• Demonstrates proficiency in managing General Ledger accounts

• Possesses experience with Month End Close procedures

• Has a solid understanding of Financial Statement Preparation

• Holds a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

• Proficient in using accounting software and other business-related software

• Has strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to work under pressure

• Shows strong understanding of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
