Job Description

Join a team that is responsible for delivering Oracle Compute Cloud @Customer, a strategic product in Oracle's Engineered System portfolio. Our team is part of a fast-paced, multi-faceted engineering organisation that is designing and developing cutting edge technology to enable Oracle's hybrid cloud solutions. Our customers run their businesses on our appliances and our mission is to provide them with unified turnkey solutions that enable rapid and secure cloud deployments which align and integrate with Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Job Description

  • Work with PCA and OCI engineering leaders to develop scalable, operationally focused, highly available, high-performance distributed systems

  • Automate common tasks to enable continuous delivery and ensure continuous availability with minimal human overhead

  • Drive performant, forward-thinking solutions to completion on time

  • Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to leadership, team members, and other stakeholders

  • Raise the bar for engineering quality and best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Object Oriented programming principles.

  • Previous experience developing distributed, fault-tolerant applications

  • Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Linux (Oracle Linux/RedHat), Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, Docker, RESTful APIs, log analysis tools, debugging tools

  • A strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Comfort with complex, rapidly evolving software development environments.

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Ability to drive, follow, and evangelize cross-team processes

  • Experience using distributed source code management systems such as Git

  • Experience using Jira and Confluence

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams

  • Commitment to capturing and maintaining institutional knowledge

  • Experience in startups or fast-paced enterprise technology development environments

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
