QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST - BVI
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Analyst in the BVI performs and completes a timely review of all and/or selected files related to mortgage and installment credit files processed to ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures, guidance statements and regulatory requirements; detects and reports fraud; prepares exception reports with recommendation; follows up to remediation.
Essential Responsibilities:
Using the Post Closing Mortgage Quality Assurance Review Checklist, perform post-closing review /re-verification of all consumer, commercial and mortgage files in accordance with established procedures, to ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, investors, agencies and regulatory requirements. The principal objective is to detect errors, omissions, violations and fraud thereby mitigating losses.
Prepare and dispatch confirmation/re-verification letters regarding the following information:
Employment and Income
Source of Funds/Assets
Application/Demographic Data
Financial Statements
Tax Returns
Gift Letter
Perform other file reviews using designated checklists and in accordance with established procedures:
Adverse Action
Early Default
Construction to Permanent
Loss Mitigation
Collection and Foreclosure
Bankruptcies
Order a prescribed sample of Review Appraisals from a board approved appraiser. Perform Desk Review Appraisal on a prescribed sample of cases
Prepare preliminary exception reports relative to each category of reviews along with individual status report for file.Discuss the various reports with the relevant production areas to clarify findings and obtain status of resolution, prior to the publishing of the final reports
Perform completed review of a selected sample of files related to Installment Credit and/or Mortgage closed in accordance with established procedures, policies and regulatory requirement
Prepare Post Conversion review of all Mortgage files for loans which have been converted from construction to permanent financing to assure full compliance with bank policies and local regulations
Collaborate with installment lending personnel to assure the timely registration of all liens on motor vehicles financed by the bank and the acquisition of the relative certificates of title in a timely manner
Receive responses from the lines of business and prepare final report
Maintain a tracking of all unresolved finding
Establish and maintain re-verification files in safe custody at all times. Manage the movement of all other credit files and documents to assure safety and accountability at all times. Maintain a tracking and follow-up system for all unanswered requests for re-verification and other correspondence
Perform File Scan Request/Requests for retrieval of loan documents
Action Credit Check request received from local banks
Act as the Vault Custodian for file room containing all credit/collateral files, ensuring the required registers are updated to document files removed and returned
Perform the review of paid consumer, mortgage and commercial loans. Prepare the required documents to notify client of paid loans.
Perform update of the ALS system in MSP for auto insurance renewals and arrange filing of the insurance certificates
Perform review of the expired insurance report for auto loans and arrange to follow with clients for updated insurance certificate
Receive and arrange filing of mortgage insurance renewal certificates
Manage the retention of credit and collateral file in accordance with the bank’s retention policy.
Maintain a record and stay abreast with all related regulatory and bank policy and procedural changes and amendments
Participate in and successfully pass, at regular intervals, the mandatory training in accordance with BVI Anti-Money Laundering rules, laws, and regulations and such other applicable rules and regulations having regard to the level and nature of risk posed by the bank’s banking business in the Territory
Performs such other duties as are assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Other Responsibilities:
Assists management in special projects and special requests, as required.
Independence of Judgment:
Exercises low degree of discretion and judgment related to the continuous analysis of specialized and complex subjects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Employees in this job work in an office environment with a comfortable room temperature, good lighting, and quiet conditions. Able to work extended hours when necessary.
Minimum Requirements:Associate Degree from an accredited institution or 3-5 years experience in related field of business; thorough knowledge of compliance requirements; knowledge of regulatory/policy/procedure and practices of consumer lending; good communication skills (verbal and written); organizational skills; strong PC Skills; attention to detail; ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
