Resideo Vice President, Software Engineering in United States
Resideo is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering. The successful candidate will report to the Sr VP of Engineering and will interact frequently with the senior management team of Resideo including Product Management leadership and the VP of Product Engineering. The ideal candidate will bring diverse leadership experience in software engineering, excel in collaborative teamwork, and have a proven record of successful project delivery, fostering an inclusive and innovative environment.
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead a software development organization of over 230+ software professionals across the world that focuses on IoT platforms, mobile/web applications as well as consumer and professional services.
Technical
Define and execute the software engineering strategy in alignment with the company's goals. Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the engineering teams.
Lead architectural and technical decision making.
Organization
Motivate and empower the engineering teams to deliver on all project and business goals.
Provide high level technical leadership and management to managers and individuals.
Develop and acquire talent and expertise required for successful execution of development priorities.
Execution
Develop and drive metrics to support the execution of the programs.
Establish third party contract partnerships for key technical areas that may require variable staffing.
Align with other Engineering leaders to ensure that technical platforms are leveraged to maximize development efficiency.
Advance and nurture a culture of innovation within the software engineering organization.
Participate in annual budget, operating plan and strategic plan development.
Engage with cross-functional executive leaders to communicate progress, successes, and challenges.
YOU MUST HAVE:
BS degree in Computer Science or similar field with a robust background in full-stack development.
10+ years as an organizational leader for software engineering teams.
10+ years of leadership and talent development for multi-discipline, global software engineering teams.
WE VALUE:
Graduate Degree in Computer Science or similar field.
Exceptional communication skills and adept at managing change (change management) – fostering innovation and enhancing software engineering practices.
Proven experience in a leadership roles, managing and mentoring large software engineering teams.
Expertise in IoT technologies, protocols, and platforms.
Strong architectural and technical skills in particular IoT and residential IoT
Proficiency in developing and operating SaaS services at scale.
Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
History with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
Capability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non- technical stakeholders, fostering understanding and collaboration.
Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.

The typical base salary for this role, ranges from USD $270,000 to $450,000per year. Within a range, Resideo determines base pay for an individual based on various factors, including market conditions, skills, and experience."
This role is eligible to participate in the Resideo Bonus Plan (RBP) subject to the terms and conditions of the Plan. You can earn an annual bonus of 40%of your annual salary. This percent will be prorated based on your hire date. Business performanceand your manager’s assessment of your performance against goals and objectives among other factors during theyear will determine the actualbonus payment amount. If your first day of eligibility under the Plan is after November 1st, you are not eligible for an RBP payout in March of the following year.
