Integrated Security Technologies Traveling Preventative Maintenance Technician in United States

The Traveling Preventative Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in installing, servicing, testing, and inspecting a variety of access control and IP camera products and systems. As a customer-facing representative, the Travelling Preventative Maintenance Technician be personable, knowledgeable, and proactive, making decisions that prioritize customer satisfaction and company interests. They should possess basic troubleshooting skills and work under the guidance of various departments.

As a Traveling Preventative Maintenance Technician, the successful candidate will need to be hard-working, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to work independently to maintain security hardware in the client’s and Unlimited Technology’s best interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and test a variety of access control and IP camera products and systems.

  • Interpret and understand engineered drawings related to security installations.

  • Possess a basic understanding of door hardware installation techniques.

  • Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to job tickets and installations.

  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times during installations and service visits.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers and relevant stakeholders to provide updates on project activities.

  • Adhere to company protocols and procedures regarding safety and security standards.

  • Maintain a clean driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management promptly.

  • Collaborate with other team members and departments as necessary to ensure successful project completion.

  • Continuously update skills and knowledge related to security installation techniques, equipment, and technologies.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installations and service visits.

  • Follow company guidelines and industry best practices to ensure the quality and reliability of security installations.

  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or questions from clients during installations and service visits.

  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.

  • Certifications in Software House, Lenel, and Genetec strongly desired.

  • Certifications in American Dynamics, Bosch and / or other IP Video products a plus.

  • Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.

  • Experience in Audio Visual Technology

  • Experience troubleshooting network switches.

  • Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.

  • Experienced in the marking up, or “red lining” of drawings post install.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.

  • Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time
