Position Summary

The Training Designer directly supports the Service Training Department through design & production of performance-based training programs using multiple modalities. This includes but is not limited to live and virtual instructor-led programs, self-paced programs, authored web-based programs, video, 3D animations and programs that utilize a blend of these modalities. This position will work with the Service Training and Service Management teams utilizing Instructional System Design (ISD) methodologies to create best in class solutions for our customers training needs.

This role has remote work opportunity.

Duties

  • Designs training projects and performs instructional design and development of both blended and self-paced interactive programs.

  • Utilize appropriate e-Learning tools, software to transfer knowledge into e-Learning methodology.

  • Design, develop, and author interactive and engaging instructional materials with assessments and simulations using a variety of tools and applications to include, audio, video, animation, narrated presentations, podcasts, webcasts, simulations, and virtual learning environments.

  • Design and develop materials to support both facilitators and participants in instructor-led and blended training programs taking account of adult learning principles

  • Utilize instructional design principles or models (e.g. ADDIE, ISD, etc.) to effectively develop courses for new and existing training content.

  • Uses critical thinking and problem solving skills; skills in extracting and assimilating chunks of information working them into logical framework, applying principles of behavioral sciences; systematically searching for related information

  • Effectively utilize the processes for designing and developing learning solutions, including use of elearning content development programs to manage design and development project workflows.

  • Consults with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify job tasks and knowledge/performance gaps.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of learning programs and makes future recommendations accordingly. Track and trend training/qualification performance.

  • Recommend designs and develop creative learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, classroom training, eLearning, video, and blended learning solutions.

  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on using new instructional technologies, innovative instructional practices, and new course delivery methods.

  • Be knowledgeable in the areas of course design, virtual learning environments, course management, and evaluation systems.

  • Designs and develops print materials including participant/facilitator guides and job aids.

  • Develops an effective instructional strategy/learning plan and design documents for each learning intervention based upon established learning objectives and the characteristics of a given target audience.

  • Ensures high levels of customer service and satisfaction. Meets and strives to exceed customer expectations.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in multi-media authoring/production required.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the creation of training programs for the maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical or electronic equipment.

  • Knowledge of Instructional System Design methodologies used in technical course and curriculum development.

  • Expertise in staging solutions on Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Experience with Office 365 Applications.

  • Proven ability and willingness to develop strong working relationships with peers and management.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, organize, and complete assigned projects within time-lines.

  • Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with video shoots, editing and post-production is highly desired.

  • Working knowledge of multi-media interactive authoring software. Experience with Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, Techsmith (Camtasia, Snagit) or related software highly desired.

  • Experience with utilizing 3D models and CAD drawings into Learning Solutions is preferred.

  • Familiarity with HTML, or programming languages such as Java or Java Script is preferred.

Pay range for this opportunity is $58,250.00 - $81,637.50. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company’s 401k plan. Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability. Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
