Job Title: Training and Development Specialist II Location: Various Department: Training and Development Position Overview: The Training and Development Specialist II plays a critical role in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs that support various non-TADSS (Training Aids Devices Simulations and Simulators) requirements. This role focuses on exercise planning, scenario development, leadership training programs (LTP), and practical training simulations. The Specialist will be responsible for coordinating logistics, conducting training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs across different formats including Computer-Based Training Instruction (CBTI) and classroom settings. Key Responsibilities: Development of Training Materials: Design and create comprehensive training materials and curricula for exercise planning, scenario development, and leadership training programs. Ensure that all training content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational objectives and standards. Logistics and Scheduling Coordination: Plan and coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, resource allocation, and personnel management. Ensure that all necessary equipment, materials, and personnel are available and prepared for training sessions. Conducting Training Sessions: Facilitate hands-on training sessions, workshops, and seminars, focusing on practical demonstrations and simulations. Provide training related to Combat Training Centers (CTCs)/CTC rotations, installations, U.S. Army Commands, SC missions, scenario development, After Action Reviews (AARs), Contracted Role Players (CRPs), Civilians On the Battlefield (COBs), Higher Control (HICON), and Training Analysis and Feedback Facility (TAFF) support. Instructional Delivery Formats: Deliver training through various formats including Computer-Based Training Instruction (CBTI) and classroom-based instruction. Adapt training methods to meet the needs of different audiences and ensure effective learning outcomes. Evaluation and Improvement: Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics. Continuously improve training materials and delivery methods based on evaluation results and emerging needs. Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with other training professionals and stakeholders to ensure consistency and integration of training programs. Coordinate with external vendors, role players, and other partners as required to enhance training effectiveness. Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and feedback. Prepare reports and documentation related to training activities and outcomes. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training and Development, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in training and development, preferably with a focus on military or defense-related training. Skills: Strong ability to develop and deliver effective training programs and materials. Excellent organizational, logistical, and time-management skills. Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Computer-Based Training Instruction (CBTI) and traditional classroom teaching. Familiarity with military training scenarios and systems (CTCs, AARs, COBs, HICON, etc.). Certifications: Relevant certifications in training and development or military training are advantageous. Working Conditions: May require occasional travel to various training locations. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule.
