Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a full-time Support Services Technician to join our dedicated Central Processing Area team at the Germantown, NY site.

The Pay Range: $20.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.

The Schedule: Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with a Monday to Thursday shift, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, granting you a refreshing three-day weekend every week!

The Role:

As a Support Services Technician in our Central Processing Area (CPA), you will play a vital role in supporting our animal production needs through a variety of cleaning, sterilizing, transporting, and processing procedures. You will work closely with the team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, with opportunities to cross-train in different areas for a well-rounded experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Operating autoclaves to sterilize assorted barrier supplies.

  • Operating forklift to move products and equipment to and from various locations.

  • Strategically process loads per delivery schedule to meet deadlines.

  • Load and unload autoclaves using pallet jack.

  • Move containers using pallet jack or forklift.

  • Assist in barrier start up.

  • Process assorted barrier laundry.

  • Load assorted barrier supplies into autoclavable containers.

  • Load feed containers.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant work experience or equivalent training.

  • Forklift and electric pallet jack experience a plus, but we will certify you!

  • Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.

  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes (training provided).

  • Strong problem-solving abilities to tackle challenges as they arise.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Expect a physically demanding role, involving tasks such as lifting items up to 75 pounds, climbing, crouching, and crawling.  

  • Utilization of chemicals and heavy machinery, coupled with protective measures, is routine.

  • While the role presents occupational hazards, our comprehensive safety protocols ensure your well-being.

  • Expect a variety of working conditions, from exposure to temperature extremes and outdoor weather to occasional strong odors and noise levels.
