AON Strategic Initiatives Project Manager (Core) in United States

The Project Manager will report into the Value Enablement Office Leader for ABS (Aon Business Services). They will oversee and manage portfolio execution, ensuring the delivery of tangible business value including revenue growth, process optimization, realizable productivity and to ensure that our clients and colleagues achieve the maximum value from ABS capabilities and investments. This role collaborates with Solution Lines, and other global ABS capabilities including operations and product/platform/service teams, to prioritize and oversee value delivery for their remit.

What the day will look like

  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs), leading indicators and metrics to measure the effectiveness and success of ABS initiatives

  • Support development and maintenance of frameworks, policies, templates for program and portfolio governance

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

  • Develop detailed project plans and track progress

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Conduct risk management to minimize program / portfolio risks

  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents

  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders

  • Manage project documentation and capture requirements from all functional stakeholders

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to include public speaking, group presentation

  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group to include senior leaders, managers and subject matter experts

  • Creative problem-solving skills with forethought of organizational goals and needs

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Flexibility and responsiveness to changing business needs and demands

  • Proficient in use of MS Office, specifically Project, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Recognized and accredited professional project management training and certification (such as PMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP or equivalent) preferred but not required.

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000 - $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, Illinois The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
