LinkedIn's storage org includes all the online distributed storage systems that power the diverse LinkedIn applications. These include Espresso--the NoSQL system which is the primary database for all of LinkedIn; Ambry--the scalable object store which houses all media content and delivers datasets between datacenters; and Venice--the derived data systems powering LinkedIn's recommendation and machine-learning applications. All of these teams build high-performance, fault-tolerant, scalable, distributed systems that are core to powering the LinkedIn site, mobile app, and products across all of LinkedIn lines of business.
These systems operate at an enormous scale, serving millions of queries per second and handling tens of petabytes of data. Working in storage at LinkedIn gives you a chance to have an incredible impact on the organization.

As a Staff Software Engineer:
•You will lead the technical vision of building and operating the storage platform that
powers all of LinkedIn’s online traffic.
•You will partner closely with internal customers and team leadership in defining the product’s technical roadmap and make it a reality. •You will architect large scale distributed storage system solutions to support the growing demands of LinkedIn’s business. •You will champion by bringing in best industry practices to push the development standards on the team. •You will identify and lead cross functional opportunities, which could potentially span across all of LinkedIn Engineering. •You will mentor and lead other engineers, and will help build a fast-growing team,
•BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience. •4+ years’ experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. •4+ years programming experience in Java, C/C++ or similar programming languages. •Experience in mentoring/leading a team of engineers.
•6+ years of relevant work experience. •MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline. •Thorough knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing technologies. •Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale. •Experience in building distributed, internet-scale systems. •Experience in open-source projects and/or academic research in large-data
