What will you be doing?
Act is the technology and thought leader providing expert level knowledge on java development
Oversee and coordinate the software design process for several technology verticals
Follow-through on initiatives to ensure progress is being made and efforts are making meaningful progress
Mentor more Jr developers and ensure knowledge on development best practices
Contribute to system and application architecture
Facilitate new software implementation
Review the work of junior software development staff
Provide technical support
Act as a liaison between project teams, software engineers and architecture.
Oversee and support the design and development of software components to enable manageability, serviceability, deployment and purpose-built solution offerings.
Be proactive in software design/architecture, working closely with architects and software engineers to come up with the right solution to the problem.
Be an active participant and lead code reviews.
Keep up to date with the latest developments in the software field.
Act as a technical lead for one or more projects, providing oversight and guidance on technical issues and design issues and mentor junior team members.
What do you need to have?
Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to keep engineering leadership informed and present complex technical solutions both upward and downward.
10 years of relevant experience including 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity delivering projects on-time consistently within an agile release train development methodology
Expert knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile).
Advanced understanding of importance of coding standards and style.
Expert knowledge of relational databases.
Expert knowledge of business and system process flow techniques.
Expert Object Oriented programming skills and knowledge of one or more OOP languages.
Expert ability to translate business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements.
Establishes approach and leads resources to achieve operational and strategic plans. Impact is focused on medium-term goals.
An undergraduate degree or its international equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area. Master’s degree preferred.
