We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-obsessed, team-oriented Software Development Engineer III to join our Digital Solutions team to work on Premera's Web and digital properties. This is a virtual/telecommuter position.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, modify, and maintain applications using agile methodologies such as Xtreme programming (XP), test driven development (TDD), and pair programming (PP)

  • Develop, maintain, and implement dynamic and responsive user interfaces using Angular framework, HTML, CSS, SASS and Typescript/JavaScript by leveraging modern software principles.

  • Create reusable components for use by developers and content creators

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code adhering to best practices

  • Take a DevSecOps approach in maintaining our build pipelines and cloud environments

  • Consult with business partners and IT leaders to identify problems and opportunities for improvement

  • Collaborate with team members, designers, optimize applications, develop features, and maintain brand consistency for user-facing interfaces

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the overall codebase quality

  • Analyze and resolve medium to large, moderately complex production problems

  • Participate in on-call production support rotation as needed

  • Initiate a personal training plan, stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements, and become the best in your area

  • Follow accessibility guidelines to ensure applications are usable for everyone

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience (Required)

  • 5 years’ application development experience utilizing Angular, HTML, CSS, SASS, C#, .Net, and Azure (Required)

  • Experience with Agile, SCRUM, and DevSecOps methodologies, actively participating in a collaborative team environment

  • Experience working with cloud systems such as Azure or AWS

  • Exposure to API and service-based technologies

  • Experience with build tools like webpack, gulp and testing frameworks like Jasmine, Jest and Playwright

  • Experience with performance optimization techniques

  • Experience with SQL

  • Customer-focused with demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and resolve to customer's satisfaction

  • Excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

National Salary Range:

$84,800.00 - $144,200.00

National Plus Salary Range:

$96,700.00 - $164,400.00

*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
