RELX INC Software Asset Management Analyst III in United States

This role requires excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of complex software licensing models and asset management tools. Additionally, staying updated with licensing models, industry trends, and legal requirements related to software usage are required for continued success in this role.

Your Day-to-Day

  • License Compliance: Tracking software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements, avoiding penalties due to under-licensing or non-compliance. Perform proactive audits.

  • Inventory Management: Maintaining an accurate inventory of software assets across the organization, including details like license keys, versions, installations, and usage.

  • Optimization: Identifying opportunities to optimize software usage and costs, such as by reallocating underutilized licenses or recommending more cost-effective licensing options.

  • Cross Organization Collaboration: Ability to work with global cross-functional organizations and leadership to produce goal driven outcomes.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze and report on software usage, performance, costs, and lifecycle status (end of support and/or end of life). Identify areas for optimization and improvement.

  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to software deployment, usage, training, and awareness within the organization.

  • Mentor: Guide the activities of team members responsible for entitlement management, compliance reporting, and quote to order procurement functions.

    What You Bring to The Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field

  • Working knowledge of software licensing models, compliance requirements, legal and regulatory aspects of software usage, and industry best practices

  • Expert knowledge of software asset management tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, or Snow

  • Configuration Management (CMDB) experience

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail: ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, managers, peers, and vendors; collaborate across cross-functional teams

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager – CSAM, ITIL v3, etc.

  • Excellent time management skills: ability to multi-task and complete time-sensitive tasks

  • Excellent MS 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience in medium to large company environment
