JOB DUTIES: Develop and maintain web applications such as Angular, NodeJS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RESTful API, ARCGIS, Mapbox and mobile applications with NativeScript. Identify programming and output needs. Maintain and develop new features for web and mobile applications. Confer with clients to define application requirements. Verify preliminary design and output and recommend technical and procedural design for new or revised applications including system specifications, programming guidelines, and code review. Communicate with end-user to resolve software bugs. Answer questions and provide technical assistance and training to application users. Resolve problems by reviewing and analyzing software documentation and production outputs to identify causes, solutions, and make appropriate referrals. Debug and refactor existing code. Test and deploy web service to on premises and cloud environment. Write operation instructions and other documentation associated with computer programs for system procedures and guidelines for application users as well as for programs and program modifications. Review, modify, and write program code and job control language. Write automated programming scripts to increase efficiency of existing processes. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement new technologies. Ability to prioritize a heavy workload of competing deliverables and tight deadlines for multiple projects. Excellent organizational, analytical, and independent problem-solving skills. Review and mentor students' programming tasks. Participate in software development Agile meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in software development/computer programming, including two years’ experience with/in the following:

  • Relational database (MySQL)

  • RESTful API

  • Modern JavaScript front-end frameworks such as Angular.

  • Communication between front-end, back-end, and database

  • Data structures and Object-oriented programming.

  • Geospatial libraries for web application development such as ARCGIS and Mapbox.

  • Agile software development methodologies

  • Docker and container orchestration technologies
