AAA is looking for motivated individuals to provide exceptional travel sales and support experience to our Members, tailoring our AAA products and services to create unique and memorable vacation experiences.
Sales and Service Travel Counselor, Senior:
Starting Pay: $23.15 - $28.94 hourly rate based on experience plus monthly bonus potential (bonus plan is reviewed during interview)
Full Time - 40 hours a week
Shifts: Shifts can start as early as 8 AM and end as late as 10 PM. We are open 7 days a week, so shifts may include working weekends. You will pick your shift at the time you are offered the position.
Training Information: Training is paid. Training hours are 9 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Essential Functions:
Investigate and respond to travel-related member questions/complaints, and recommend solutions to sell Domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail and air travel through video conferencing and telephonic channels.
Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourages repeat business
Update and maintain accurate and compliant member account files
Process and interpret travel documents for members purchasing travel products with AAA and inform them of governmental requirements
Cross-sell AAA products and services
Research, evaluate and compare appropriate AAA Travel Partner packages to match up with member needs for the purpose of “delivering exceptional member experiences” in every transaction
Stay current with world events and latest travel industry developments and trends, and provides relevant information to members
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong selling skills with the ability to use sales techniques, product knowledge, and listening skills to identify Member-specific needs to generate new sales to prospective and current Members
Be skilled at using multiple applications simultaneously and be able to provide clear and proficient verbal and written communication
Telephone skills, basic computer skills and industry specific applications (e.g., Galileo, VAX, etc.)
Detailed knowledge of travel products and GDS experience (Apollo/Galileo/Travelport)
Knowledge of worldwide geography, the ability to read and interpret maps and brochures
Be reliable to work a schedule that may include weekends/holidays and adhere to your assigned work schedule
Application of good judgment and decision making
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Qualifications:
High School diploma (required)
3 years of sales, call center, travel to include billing experience (required)
GDS experience required (Apollo/Galileo/Travelport)
Have a dedicated work space free of distractions/noise that includes a desk, chair, etc, along with the ability to hardwire your internet connection (required)
Sales experience in the travel industry (preferred)
Bilingual communication (preferred)
Working Environment / Minimum Physical Requirements:
Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Requires bending and lifting (up to 15 pounds). Approximately 95% of the time spent on the job involves the use of a personal computer.
