Overview
Operations Senior Staff Accountantresponsibilities include payment request processing, reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger accounts, and following month-end close procedures.
Responsibilities
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, expenses, and correcting entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Maintain and balance general ledger accounts as assigned, by verifying, allocating, preparing journal entries, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
Assist with month-end financial close items and supporting schedules
Variance analysis of changes in the financial statement accounts
Prepare gross profit analysis of transactions, including and analyzing and resolving any discrepancies within gross profit
Assign general ledger accounts to new clients
Track, report, accrue, and research issues related to commission revenue
Cross department communication on resolution of matters
Own resolution of accounting matters around assigned general ledger accounts
Ensure all assigned carrier invoices are reported and paid timely
Documentation of accounting processes
Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports or tables
Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements
Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of General Accounting experience required
Applicable bachelor’s degree preferred; experience comparable to degree will be considered
Previous PEO experience
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumif Formulas, etc.)
Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to manage sensitive client situations gracefully
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with the ability to oversee sensitive material concerning the organization and its clients
Physical Requirements, Language Skills:
Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs
Frequent viewing of computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse
Requires sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. periodically
Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position
Fluency in English – speak, read, and write
Pay & Benefits
$70-$75K Salary
