Social & Scientific Systems (S-3) Senior Reporting Accountant in United States

Perform consolidation of data and provide quarterly external/internal reporting support for financials such as the balance sheet, income statements, cash flow, statement of equity, and external reporting binder support along with alternative presentations including monthly financials, Operating Units financials, and Tax financials. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Assists with preparations for the annual audit, quarterly and annual external reporting, monthly close, and ad hoc projects. Corresponds and work cross functionally with other departments to ensure proper accounting.
Help develop, improve, and collaborate with other areas within and outside the team to coordinate the reporting binder support, generate alignment of needs and timing, complete reviews, obtain necessary signatures, and improve information flow. Provided complete, accurate and timely filings.
This position is responsible for supporting the External Reporting Manager and others as needed as well as assisting in ensuring accounting is completed in accordance with US GAAP. This position also assists in internal and external audits and financial reporting.

This is a growing company, and this role will have the ability to grow with the organizations and help modify and design controls and processes for a transitioning organization. This role will report to the External Reporting Manager and support the broader corporate accounting team and Controller.
Prepares and posts more complex and unique journal entries for company accounts ensuring information is accurate and up to date. Identifies and escalates problems as appropriate.
Reconciles balance sheet and income statement accounts to general ledger; researches more complex discrepancies and determines appropriate course of action. Prepare complex bank reconciliation's, journal entries, and expense analyses.
Develops spreadsheets for account analysis and journal entries in order to maintain records in an organized and standardized manner.
Prepare logical and accurate analyses and documentation supporting journal entries and any other accounting records
Prepare Monthly schedules and entries for fixed assets, prepaids, accrual, and cash
Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statement schedules
Assist with the annual and interim financial audit requests
Required
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
Work Experience
Required
5 Years In Accounting or related field
Perferred
CPA Certifiled Public Accountant

In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
Ability to research, analyze and evaluate complex problems and recommend solutions.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of procedures to ensure compliance and internal controls.
Demonstrated proficiency and advanced skills in computer applications (particularly in Excel) , such as Microsoft Office software products.

Demonstrates knowledge of reconciliation required to reconcile routine records/transactions.

Basic Compensation: $70,000.0 to $80,000.00 /yr
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
