Our Automation team in ourWixom, MIlocation is currently looking for a bright, ambitious Senior PLC Engineerwho enjoys team work and on-going challenging projects.

Job Description

We are looking for particular expertise with the following platforms:

PLC:Rockwell Allen Bradley, Siemens Step 7, Experience with other programs is a plus

DCS:SQL or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Implement established developed control scheme based on customer requirements

  • Perform necessary duties for commissioning network communications to processors and periphery devices

  • Perform duties to establish functional and stress testing of developed code

  • Identify failure modes and corrective actions for reliability and recovery modes

  • Perform point to point checks along with documentation for process tracking and improvements

  • Follow corporate quality process and procedures, and ability to instill to others

Key attributes include:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Capability in reading electrical/mechanical schematics

  • Trouble shooting abilities for electrical systems

  • Servo motor experience for trouble shooting mechanical and electrical loading

  • Engineering Internship(s) and/or military experience a plus

  • Control system interface networking/ PC networking

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work well in teams and independently

  • Takes initiative, innovative, and has a attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively in fast paced multitasking environment with plant engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage project and assignment

Employee Responsibilities (Health, Safety, & Environmental):

  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance

  • Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process

  • Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained

  • Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements

  • Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix

  • Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts

  • Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition

  • Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees

  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum three (5) years of experience involving software development and testing for process controls and related automation applications Required

  • Capable of programming and integrating an entire machine from concept to completion without supervision

  • Capable of Supervising multiple programmers on a project and enforcing code standards

  • Experience in SQL or other relational databases is an asset

  • Must be willing to travel to manufacturing/customer sites domestic and international

  • Commissioning and start-up of control systems in the field required

  • Machine level programming for Food & Beverage, Utilities, Bulk Manufacturing or Fill-Finish industries, Transportation, Pharmaceutical is required

Hardware & Software:

  • PLC:Rockwell Allen Bradley, Siemens S7 or TIA Portal, Omron

  • GCCS PLC/HMIprogramming experience or certification

  • FAST PLC/HMIprogramming

  • HMIDevelopment

  • DCS:SQL Server or other relational databases

Education:

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical or related technical discipline Required; Bachelor degree preferred.

  • Equivalent industrial experience will be considered.
