Senior Front End UI Software Developer/ Engineer
At SS&C, we are building the global future of financial services’ transaction processing and recordkeeping systems on the latest open source technology and event sourcing architecture. We are looking for curious minds to join us and be an integral part of our exciting journey!
About the company:
SS&C Technologies Holdings (NASDAQ: SSNC) is the world’s largest hedge fund and private equity administrator, as well as the largest mutual fund transfer agency. SS&C’s unique business model combines end-to-end expertise across financial services operations with software and solutions to service even the most demanding customers in the financial services and healthcare industries. About the Team:
The UX and Engineering teams build and support large, fast-growing, and innovative applications in the Financial Technology space. You’ll be part of a flexible and in-demand UX & UI design team that partners with software engineering teams to build intuitive and clean user interfaces with reusable components, as well as contributing to our next-generation web framework.
In this role, you will be a founding member of a team focused on moving our products to a modern front-end. You’ll also be responsible for developing front-end UI components that will build a new components library to be used in many different applications. Your passion for front-end development and experience building large web-based front-end applications will allow you to be a key part of the team, execute the vision, and establish technical best practices.
A Good Fit:
You are somewhere between a designer and an engineer—a capable front-end developer but always thinking from the user’s perspective.
You’ve worked on enterprise-facing software and the development teams that build it, so you know how to translate design intent (everything from concrete mockups to abstract discussions) to structured components and implementation approaches.
You care about accessibility and have experience understanding that it’s part of the design process and an afterthought.
You are intentional and confident in your decisions but receptive to change given new information or perspective.
You’re curious, insightful, and ready to learn. Fin-tech is a complex space, but design exists to understand, distill and solve complex problems. You’re here to make the design work.
Day to Day:
Build, extend, and maintain reusable UI components that will be used across many applications.
Develop a framework for a web-based component design system.
Develop best practices and guidelines for contributing UI and reusable components to a central component library.
Work closely with our UX design team to ensure usable designs with a consistent look and feel.
