Legrand North America Senior DevOps Engineer in United States

Position Description At a Glance Legrand *has an exciting opportunity for a *Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Wattstopper Team in Pleasant Grove, UT / Remote. This position is responsible for executing on architecture and strategy decisions as well as leading the DevOps team in tactical implementation of the Software Center of Excellence DevOps Frameworks, monitoring and processes. This is a senior role on a team of DevOps engineers and drives the successful execution of the continuous pipelines for deployment of Legrand’s products -- inclusive of cloud, mobile, desktop and web applications, as well as embedded software on gateway and edge devices. The candidate has robust experience with virtualization strategies, tools and their applicability to development productivity and Release uptime. This senior role helps to guide a team of DevOps Engineers in developing and sustaining these systems, pipelines, frameworks and processes to mature and release Legrand software used to commission and control best-in-class residential and commercial building control systems. This work encompasses multiple product lines and technologies on a PaaS distributed architecture system. What Will You Do? MAIN JOB DUTIES: 1. Automate select systems administration tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools 2. Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems 3. Adjust priorities and deliver business value as part of a scrum team 4. Analyze monitoring and system performance data and provide improvement recommendations to product and system owners 5. Design, build and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the development lifecycle. 6. Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes. 7. Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, monitoring. 8. Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions. 9. View development and deployment activities from a security-centric lens. 10. Ensures that Engineering and Production assets and systems are secure. 11. Performs other similar and related duties as required. ## Qualifications Required Skills EDUCATION: * BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cyber Security EXPERIENCE: * Minimum 5 years related experience SKILLS/KNOWELDGE/ABILITIES: * Experience with programming and scripting with languages like Python, Perl, Bash, JavaScript, Java, SQL, C#. * Familiar with the Agile development methodology * Must have proficient programming skills, including familiarity with data types, syntax and control structures. Demonstrated ability to create functional and technical design specifications for development efforts and debugging complex application problems. * Expert level knowledge of deployment/configuration management tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Azure DevOps, Terraform. * Expertise with version control tools like GIT, Bitbucket, TFS. * Experienced with network infrastructure, database, cloud and data center operations, and security protocols. * Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and MacOS. * Understands and has experience working with Public Cloud offerings like Azure and AWS. * Expertise in managing and building Kubernetes based deployments of engineering and Production systems. * Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements. * Able to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently. * Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions. * Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload. * Must have strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively. * Demonstrated problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. * Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
