RN – MedSurg Location: Newberry, MI Duration: 13 Weeks Description: General job duties. Types of procedures required. Med/Surg- Completing daily patient assessments, passing medications, monitoring IV drips, monitoring telemetry, admitting/discharging patients, daily rounding with interdisciplinary team, and assisting with patient transfers when necessary. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) EHR that we utilize is Centriq. The medication dispensing system is Pyxis for both units. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Two years of experience. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) BLS, ACLS and PALS. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. The Med/Surg unit is licensed for 25 beds Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) The nurse to patient ratio on Med/Surg will vary but is typically 1:3 or 1:4.
