We are looking for experienced Release Managers, with specialization in one of the following technologies: Salesforce, Microsoft Power Platform, Appian, Pega and Mulesoft, to oversee the delivery of software releases from initial planning to deployment. The Release Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage release schedules, and ensure adherence to quality standards. This role requires a strategic approach to release management, incorporating best practices to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and achieve successful deployment of software products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the release management lifecycle, including the scheduling, coordination, and management of releases to production across the enterprise for multiple applications

  • Plan release windows and cycles across a portfolio, ensuring alignment with project milestones and business objectives

  • Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of deployment plans and checklists

  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations

  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality

  • Communicate release details and schedules to the business and IT teams, as well as gather required information for audit purposes

  • Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business Go/No-Go decisions

  • Produce deployment, run books, and implementation plans, and facilitate regular release reporting

  • Continuously work to improve the release process by incorporating feedback and lessons learned into future release cycles

  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and IT operations teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of software products and updates

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)

  • Shall have a minimum of 5 years and depth of understanding of an enterprise level platform and application release synchronous and on-demand (Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) release cycles for a diverse technology platform and product ecosystem with large scale deployments

  • Ability to oversee all releases to production

  • For each identified platform, must be a Certified Salesforce Development Lifecycle and Salesforce Deployment Designer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with in-depth understanding of the technology platform and experience with release management on large scale deployments

  • Extensive experience in release management or a related field, with a proven track record of successful software deliveries

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies

  • Proficiency in release management tools and software, such as Copado, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD technologies

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical teams and business stakeholders

  • Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

  • All work must be conducted in the United States

  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form

  • Must be able to conduct work and be available in VA communication channels during (EST business hours)

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C residents is $104,700 to $190,400 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
