Registered Nurse - Step Down Location: Dayton, OH Duration: 13 weeks Description: Unit is trialing team nursing where two nurses and a PCT partner together to care for a group of patients. The goal of this model is to divide the work and not the patients ultimately, improving both the workload and patient care. During this trial, nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the status of the trial. Must have vent exp and EPIC experience Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they can be up to 1:5-6 Must have the following requirements: BLS, ACLS required- must be able to read and interpret strips Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed. Minimum 2 years' experience in a large hospital; level 1 preferred will accept level 2 experience. Unit Details: Working with Tele/drips/vents Patient population primarily consists of COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Flu, Sepsis, Diabetic Ketoacidosis and Post Covid. With the support of Respiratory Therapist, we care for trach, vents, bipaps and high-oxygen requirements. We see insulin drips for both our DKA and DKA population as well as heparin Cardizem and sporadic other drips. Trach/vents on unit no orally intubated patients.
