Cirrus Aircraft Regional Training Manager in United States

Cirrus Aircraft has established a network of independent flight training partnerships consisting of Cirrus Training Centers (CTC) and Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIP). The purpose of the Cirrus flight training network is twofold. First and foremost, the flight training network drives safety results-- by providing standardized training, using teaching tools and techniques developed by Cirrus, to ensure Cirrus owners and pilots around the world have access to the highest quality and standardized instruction. Secondly, the flight training network works plays a key role in growing our industry by enabling people to achieve their flight training and aircraft ownership aspirations.

The primary objective of the Regional Training Manager (RTM) is to enable our training partners to provide a world class flight training experience that improves flight safety and grows the aviation industry. To do this, the RTM will manage and support their assigned training partner accounts to achieve great training, customer experience and business results. Additionally, he/she will work hand in hand with the sales team to develop the partner network in targeted underserved markets. This role requires the RTM to be an effective leader, industry expert, passionate aviator, great communicator, and outstanding teammate.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Develop, maintain, and enable current and applicable training partner policies, procedures, and legal contracts.

  • Evaluate the flight skills, knowledge and instructional proficiency of the members of the Cirrus flight training network.

  • Work closely with Fleet Sales Directors to enable training support to assigned Fleet partners.

  • Provide flight and ground instruction per standards defined in Cirrus policy and procedure documents.

  • Conduct presentations, seminars, and large training sessions as required.

  • Operate Cirrus aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations and Cirrus company policies.

  • Manage travel expenses in accordance with Cirrus company policies and planned budget.

  • Provide excellent and professional customer service and account management through quick and thoughtful responses through many forms of communication to the flight training network.

  • As required, provide support and assistance to the domestic and international sales team in the selling process, including supporting tradeshows and other Cirrus sales events.

  • Work closely with the Regional Sales Directors and Regional Field Service Managers to expand into underserved training markets.

  • Work with training partners to ensure that Cirrus brand standards are properly maintained by the partner network.

  • Collect and share best flying, teaching and business practices for the benefit of the collective training network and the customers they serve.

  • Process and maintain a deep level of aircraft knowledge and be a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus Representative.

  • Extensive travel is required: 50% total travel time/8-14 overnights per month. Occasional weekend work and travel.

The Regional Training Manager is to be located in the respective assigned territory (East, West, Central U.S. region, or International region) and applicants seeking this specific position must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Cirrus location in the Netherlands area to enable ease of travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or relevant experience in lieu of education).

  • 2 years experience as a leader in a flight training program responsible for the oversight of people, operations, and business outcomes.

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal) required.

  • Current and qualified CFII with FAA Class 2 medical certificate (or international equivalent).

  • Experience instructing in Cirrus aircraft highly desired.

Other Duties Other responsibilities include acting as pilot in command of Cirrus aircraft while performing CFR 14 part 91 corporate flight operations, demonstration flights, ferry flights, internal flight training and evaluation flights.
