What we want

This posting is for multiple Psychologist positions with the Telebehavioral Care team for the Texas A&M Telehealth Institute. A Psychologist in Telebehavioral Care is responsible for collaboratively working in an interdisciplinary mental health care team of clinicians and trainees. These positions will primarily be responsible for the provision of mental health services via telehealth, while also training and supervising Master/Doctoral level students, engaging in applied research, and program coordination. These positions require a doctorate acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners (TSPEB) and post-licensure experience. How much post-licensure experience is required is dependent on the level of the position. Preferred experience includes experience in community mental health, schools, interdisciplinary care, and telehealth modalities.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

In accordance with the federal contractor vaccination mandate, specific facilities at The Texas A&M System may be considered a covered contractor workplace with covered contractor employees. Psychologist I Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • One year full-time supervised internship in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting, pre-doctoral internship preferably APA accredited

    Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas as a Licensed Psychologist

  • Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment

  • Must maintain licensure for continued employment

    Psychologist II Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • One-year full-time post-licensure experience in multidisciplinary or other relevant setting

    Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist. Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment. Must maintain licensure for continued employment

    Psychologist III Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • Five years full-time equivalent, post-licensure experience in multidisciplinary or other relevant setting

    Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist. Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment. Must maintain licensure for continued employment

    Psychologist IV Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

  • Ten years post-licensure clinical mental health experience in college counseling center, multidisciplinary, or other relevant setting

    Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist. Become licensed in Texas as a Psychologist within one year from date of employment. Must maintain licensure for continued employment

    Job Responsibilities (All Positions)

  • Provides telehealth counseling as well as crisis intervention to individuals, couples, and groups

  • Meets ethical obligations for timely documentation of counseling services per State of Texas licensure requirements and Counseling & Psychological Services policies

  • Engages in telecounseling related activities including administering and interpreting psychological tests/inventories, making referrals, and managing various organizational and administrative aspects of counseling cases

  • Provides consultation to faculty, staff, students, and parents

  • Seeks consultation from peers and leadership for difficult clinical cases per State of Texas licensure requirements

  • Provides outreach presentations for students, faculty, and staff members about counseling services, programs, professional development topics, issues, etc.

  • Per state licensure requirements, participates in continuing education and professional development activities related to the performance of job functions and maintenance of skills in one’s professional specialty area

  • Serves on departmental committees and meetings, division and university committees, and other university functions

  • Assists with organizational and administrative tasks, as requested

  • Participates in weekly supervision including review of recorded sessions and case review

  • May provide supervision for Master/Doctoral level students in Counseling and Counseling Psychology, and adjunct supervision for Doctoral interns

  • Engages in applied research and evaluation activities

  • Publishes and/or disseminates the results of research and evaluation efforts
