FEV North America, Inc Project Engineer - Vehicle Testing in United States

FEV North America, Inc is seeking a Project Engineer for its ICE Vehicle Testing Group.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Project Engineer for Vehicle Testing in the Engine and Hybrid Powertrain Systems group of FEV NA will execute combustion research and development projects in the Internal Combustion Engine (Gasoline, Diesel, Hydrogen and Hybrids) vehicle development group.

  • This group is responsible for internal and customer projects ranging from light to heavy duty automotive applications.

  • Testing of vehicles can range from emissions and performance testing on a chassis dynamometer to on track testing depending on the project needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • BSME (or automotive related degree) Minimum

  • 0 to 2 years of experience in combustion engine theory and practical application

  • Strong knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics and internal combustion engines

  • Strong knowledge of the internal combustion process for gasoline and diesel engines

  • Strong knowledge of aftertreatment systems for gasoline and diesel applications

  • Very skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Especially Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Good communication skills

  • Hands on mechanical experience working with engines & vehicles (commercially or personally)

  • Demonstrated focus on quality and timeliness.

  • Engineer is required to have a very small basic set of tools (Digital multimeter, pliers, screwdrivers) for minor work with vehicle instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US citizen or Permanent Residence is a plus

  • Hybrid vehicle testing or calibration is a plus

  • Understanding emission standards and regulations for gasoline and diesel is a plus

  • Experience with chassis dyno performance or emission testing is a plus

  • Experience with ATI VISION or INCA is a plus

  • Experience with AND Combustion Analysis Systems is a plus

  • Vehicle / Engine instrumentation with thermocouples, pressure transducers or electrical taps are a plus

  • Experience/Knowledge of OBD scan tools

  • Experience/Knowledge of vehicle instrumentation including but not limited to: Thermocouples, Encoders, Pressure Transducers, String Potentiometers
