Primary Function
The Pricing Manager, is responsible for building and managing a pricing infrastructure that optimizes product profitability, channel profitability, new business opportunity, and competitiveness in the market. Partner with product manager and the sales leadership teams, and others across the organization to foster a proactive, continuous-improvement pricing mindset. Implement and manage pricing policies, tools, systems, metrics and performance management systems that drive ongoing performance, reinforce the pricing strategy and support overall corporate goals.
Responsibilities
Assess current pricing structure by sales channels and align structures/methodologies
Manage pricing infrastructure of assigned product line
Develop and implement well-defined pricing policies that capture critical pricing decisions, steps, owners, approval levels, and exception processes
Review pricing at recent acquisitions and determine the best way to integrate the pricing models
Manage the roll out of and train/counsel colleagues on the use of pricing methods, and metrics for managing price policy/method adherence
Review elasticity of key products in key channels. Work directly with the sales and finance teams to review promotional ROI and elasticity of products.
Develop, analyze, and report on key pricing metrics
Gather, analyze and assess competitive pricing intelligence to help make pricing and product positioning decisions
Implement pricing tools and systems to foster sound pricing decisions, perform analytics, track activities and report on performance
Manage the setting of retail rates, discount levels, and client profitability levels
Collaborate with product general managers, sales, marketing, product managers, operations, finance and others across the organization to set objectives and execute the development and deployment of pricing models and processes
Develop and support detailed pricing models to analyze product and portfolio profitability using large data sets and assumptions
Present pricing models and pricing recommendations and outcomes to senior management in a clear, concise and actionable format
Maintain the security and confidentiality of pertinent information
Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field required
5-7+ years’ previous work related experience
2-3 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a similar environment, including price setting and profitability management
Advanced experience in financial analysis, data analytics
Experience in a public company
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High level of proficiency in MS Office applications: Advanced in Excel, Intermediate in PowerPoint, and Basic in Word
Fundamental understanding of pricing structures and techniques
Excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills
Strong personal leadership and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to apply complex financial, statistical, analytical and critical thinking principles
Demonstrated ability to champion projects from beginning through implementation with minimal supervision
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities
