Nursing Assistant, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join our department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible.

$18.56 - $26.92 per hour, depending on experience.

Overview

With starting rates at $20.00/Hour.

Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Candidates with less than 1 year of experience may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500.

The Nursing Assistant performs basic patient care under supervision of the Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures and practices of the Nursing Division and United Health Services. By promoting a caring, safe, and healing environment, we achieve exceptional patient-centered care. Nursing assistants demonstrate a high level of empathy and compassion, as an ambassador of UHS.

Most nursing assistants have a high school diploma or GED, and all nursing assistants must complete a state-approved training program administered by a community college, online school, or medical facility. They must pass a state exam to become certified.

Qualifications

  • Education/ExperiencePreferred:High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.Completion of a Nurse’s Aide program and previous hospital or health care.Previous hospital or health care experience. License/Certification Preferred:Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).Relevant skills certification as required by home unit assigned.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

  • Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

  • PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.

  • Clinical – Access to patient information that is not restricted (an example of restricted information is ARU) – Level 3
