The Network Engineer: Advisor will be joining our Gladiator Network Service (GNS) team that serves Banking and Credit Union financial institutions, providing secure and reliable network, wireless, and collaboration services. Our Network Implementation team builds a solid, secure network foundation for financial institution clients to implement their critical technology infrastructure while choosing from in-house or cloud-based solutions.

This individual will serve as a technological leader, providing expert solutions to our clients based on a strong foundational knowledge of network engineering principles and an understanding that there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly adapt to new environments and technologies and assist team members in doing the same. They are highly organized, self-motivated, have superior technical skills, a strong understanding of networking technologies, and an overall strong ability to solve problems creatively. The right candidate must also be able to manage multiple complex and diverse projects and scheduling.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Implement and support network infrastructure solutions based on industry best practices.

  • Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network hardware, software, and application problems.

  • Analyze network topologies to determine potential issues and makes suggestions for recommended changes.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.

  • Serve as a mentor for all of the less experienced Network Engineers on the Implementation and Support teams.

  • Possess the ability to be able to work within a team while also being able to operate individually to perform project-based design and engineering of data networks, wireless networks, and collaboration systems for implementation and support.

  • LAN routing and switching, collaboration, and wireless configuration and deployment in an enterprise environment.

  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering.

  • Experience with design, configuration, testing, and deployment of WAN solutions.

  • Experience with the following: routing, switching, firewalls/network security, and data center infrastructure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% to attend onsite implementations, training, meetings, and conferences.

  • Ability to work after-hours and on weekends for implementations as needed.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science.

  • Experience with implementing or supporting SD-WAN solutions.

  • Deep knowledge of network security principles.

  • Experience with Cisco Collaboration solutions.

  • Experience with Microsoft Business Voice.

  • Experience with Meraki Wireless.

  • Experience with cloud networking in Azure, AWS, or Equinix.

  • The ability to troubleshoot and explain network issues from the Physical cable plant to the Application layer.

  • Industry standard certifications, such as Cisco CCNP or CCIE, Arista ACE, Juniper JNCIA or JNCIE-ENT, or Versa VNX100 or VNX400.
