DUTIES:
The Mortgage Loan Assistant is responsible for assisting MPs with application input to the appropriate loan operating system (internal or secondary market partner), required compliance delivery of the loan estimate and other disclosures, collection and review of mortgage documentation, and submitting a complete and clean loan file to underwriting with all documentation necessary for approval. Professionally answer inquiries and communicate status information with sufficient urgency and follow-up to the client, processor, closing agent, and interested parties as directed by the MP. Order home owner's insurance, third party pay-offs, and other necessary documentation as required to facilitate the loan closing. Coordinate and disburse mortgage loan closing funds in accordance with Company's current security procedures, organize and submit post-closing mortgage loan packages to Loan Operations, and assist the MP with any post-closing documentation requirements. Serve as bank's primary contact for residential construction loan draw requests and ensure requests are administered and documented per Company policy requirements along with MP approval. Support the MP to provide quality and outstanding customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of banking experience as a loan assistant or processor in lending or related field
Ability to learn new procedures with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong, professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build positive working relationships and interact effectively and proactively with clients and individuals at all levels in the organization while supporting multiple lenders in a team environment across several locations that may display varying personalities and work habits
Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and quality in work while working independently
Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and plan, use time efficiently, and meet deadlines with high level of detail and accuracy
Ability to handle multiple tasks and perform under high pressure situations
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills applicable to a business environment
Outstanding customer service skills
Ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
