Mental Health Partners Medical Assist | LPN | LVN in United States


The Medical Assistant, or LPN, or LVN will support and complement client’s recovery and ongoing treatment goals.

Job Summary:

To provide direct support to clients in an integrated behavioral health program.

Essential Functions:

  • Obtains and records client vital signs and reports client history summary

  • Works with providers to monitor health and follow up of clients

  • Track laboratory data as necessary

  • Coordinate prescription refills and responds to all refill requests

  • Contact pharmacy when necessary regarding client prescriptions

  • Writes order for blood draws when requested

  • Dispenses medications and maintains Medication Administration Records

  • Refers internally for case management support for wellness services and basic needs

  • Obtains healthcare information from other healthcare providers

  • Outreaches to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) and other healthcare providers

  • Schedules appointments with other FQHC’s

  • Acknowledges visitors, clients, staff and general public in a welcoming manner

  • Completes check-in process for all scheduled appointments

  • Obtains, verifies, and scans client financial and demographic information and ensures client data is entered accurately into the electronic health record

  • Performs delegated duties of the Registered Nurse as defined by the scope and training authorized by the Supervising Medical Professional

  • Completes documentation of services consistent with clinical and administrative policies and procedures

  • Meets defined individual and department goals, activity metrics and Key Performance Indicators

  • Promotes, supports and demonstrates MHP’s mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adheres to policies, procedures, Compliance Plan and Standards of Conduct on a day to day basis

  • Effectively interacts and communicates with other MHP staff/clients/customers/partners/etc.

  • Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform other essential functions of the job

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Advanced computer skills including use of electronic health record and MS Office products and the ability to learn new tools as needed

  • Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish) preferred


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred

  • Must maintain an active LPN or LVN or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA) Registered Medical Assistant And QMAP certification required. If not QMAP certified, training will be required within 60 days upon hire.

  • Prior experience in direct client care in a behavioral health, hospital, medical office, homeless shelter or other community agency setting preferred

Working Environment

  • General office environment

  • Must be able to work in a shared office space with frequent interruptions

  • May include working with people in acute distress or crisis

  • May require travel to several MHP sites throughout Boulder and Broomfield counties to attend meetings
