Math Corps Math Instructor - PT (Grant-Funded)

Salary:$30.00 per hour

This is a grant-funded position. Grant-funded positions expire either at the end of the stated term or whenever funding for the position ceases.

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a part-time Math Corps Math Instructor in our College Pipeline Programs department. The Math Corps Math Instructor will teach math in MVCC’s Math Corps 4-week (July - August) summer program.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Teaches math curriculum that is provided by MVCC Math Corps for students grades 7-12;

  • Actively engages students in course material throughout each class;

  • Manages classroom up to 10 students;

  • Serves as a role model who exhibits sound judgement, maturity, and common sense;

  • Other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Director, College Pipeline Programs.

    The work schedule for this position will be based on the needs of the department and the availability of the applicant.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field

  • Effective classroom management skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Math and NYS Teacher Certification
