Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Lead Health Insurance Specialist in United States

Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO), Consumer Support Group (CSG), Division of Independent Dispute Resolution (DIDR). As a Lead Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will develop program policy and provide operations support for transparency and disclosure requirements in the private health insurance market. Responsibilities Leads the team in: identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow and specialization. Oversees independent dispute resolution (IDR) process development and operations and systems related to the IDR process and independent dispute resolution entities (IDRE) certification process. Participates in briefings and makes recommendations on major policy and operational decisions related to the IDR process and certification of independent dispute resolution entities (IDREs) related to the No Surprises Act. Leads the development and analysis of policies related to the IDR process and IDRE certification process. Develops collaborative partnerships with stakeholders. In order to qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Developing and/or analyzing policies related to the private health insurance market; 2) Overseeing program operations or systems related to the implementation of a major health or healthcare initiative like the No Surprises Act; AND 3) Recommending process improvements on policy and operational decisions related to a major health or healthcare initiative like the No Surprises Act. If selected for an interview, a writing sample may be required. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
