Hyster-Yale is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the HYG Innovation team. As an Innovation Software Engineer team member, you will be an active contributor into the next phase innovative solutions. This role plays an important function to develop customer solutions for operator and pedestrian awareness. Join our team as we take our trucks to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Innovation team members on software design solutions to ensure the right solution for our customers

  • Document and maintain software requirements – including the design verification activities

  • Participate in System/Component FMEA activities.

  • Contribute to competitive product benchmarking projects – summarizing competitor proximity detection attributes.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education with a minimum BS in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.

  • One to Two years of product development experience.

  • General knowledge of network technologies and standards

  • General knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN)

  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical design principles

  • Understanding of forklift industry applications and truck options.
