Graphic Designer
ADF International is seeking a full-time, highly skilled Graphic Designer to join us in London, UK or Vienna, Austria. As a Graphic Designer, you are a vital part of the Content Team within the Development Department. In this role, you will report to the Content Lead and are responsible for the creation of design materials, across digital and print, that meet our standards of excellence. You will have an exciting role in helping to shape ADF International’s look and overall style, in a consistent and engaging manner so our work and mission can reach even more people.

Your Essential Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
Participate in the ideation, creative meetings and assist in identifying and developing innovative ideas.
Support the production of content for social media, ADF International websites and our print materials.
Coordinate the creation of engaging and inspiring stories for Development initiatives, explaining the global, long-lasting impact of ADF International’s work.
Reinforce general creative direction, consistent tone, voice, and adherence to the lexicon and brand throughout all platforms.
Design various materials for digital and print including flyers, reports, advertisements, brand templates, social media graphics, and other assets.
Develop designs that are legible, aesthetically pleasing, contemporary, audience-appropriate, and consistent with ADF International's visual identity in the use of typography, graphics, and composition.
Help create and work within ADF International’s framework of visual identity guidelines to create brand-appropriate, visually excellent design materials for public marketing initiatives.
Create or find appropriate art (photos, illustrations, other graphics) for design projects, and work closely with photographers and our in-house Multimedia Coordinator to utilize all available assets.

Skills you need to succeed:
Knowledge of:
Creative design software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva and Acrobat.
Stylistic trends and best practice (and a keen eye) when it comes to good design.
Best communications practices, open to learning how to effectively message and communicate ideas.
Requirements and design specs for digital and print content on various platforms.
Digital and print media best practices, extra bonus: photography and/or animation.
Demonstrated proficiency in:
Working effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Owning tasks from ideation to production.
Creative strategy, content marketing, critical thinking.
Maintaining organizational skills and attention to detail.

Thoughtfully receive constructive critique; ability to objectively process feedback to evolve designs.
Education and/or experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Art/Graphic Design.
Ideally 1-2 years of experience in graphic design.
Valid work permit or UK citizenship required for employment in the UK.
Valid work permit or EU citizenship required for employment in Vienna.
