Groundwater & Environmental Services Geologist or Environmental Scientist - Mid to Senior Level in United States

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks an experienced Geologist or Environmental Scientist for projects based in El Paso, Texas.

Position Expectations:

  • Conducts environmental field work, including but not limited to soil, groundwater, and air sampling.

  • Oversees subcontractors during soil drilling, well installation and implementation of corrective action.

  • Drafts technical reports and recommends appropriate actions to ensure client’s objectives are met and comply with all state and federal regulations.

  • Designs, implements, and manages various soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.

  • Reviews and evaluates data for the preparation of conceptual site models and risk reports.

  • Provides task management, and may provide, case management and/or support senior project managers with project planning and deliverables.

  • Performs health and safety planning and oversight during project operations.

  • This a remote position based in El Paso, Texas, so our selected candidate will work from home to perform office duties. Day and / or overnight travel for field oversight duties, as well as, company, client, and/or regulatory meetings may be required.

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related disciple.

  • 3-10+ years of hands on fieldwork & office experience in the environmental consulting field. Experience with drilling oversight and the ability to lead subsurface events is required.

  • Working knowledge of Texas’ environmental regulations with experience in TCEQ Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) and Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) is required.

  • Must possess excellent communication and technical writing skills and be able to independently prepare a complete deliverable report with a focus on quality

  • Must possess a general working knowledge of solid, hazardous and surface water regulations with general experience in the preparation of permit applications and associated permit related documents.

  • TCEQ LPST CAPM certification or a Certified Environmental Manager designation a plus!
